John 4:13-14
When Jesus met the Samaritan Woman at the well, she was in desperate need of hope. Her soul was spiritually dry and Jesus offered her the Living Water that only He can give. She needed the eternal hope that we have when we place our faith and trust in Jesus and experience forgiveness of our sins and accept His free gift of eternal life. In John 4:13-14, Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again—ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.” The water the Jesus meant was salvation from our sins and a spiritual life in eternity with Him.
Our world needs hope
In the midst of moral decay, violence, and a pandemic, if there is anything this world needs, it is the hope that Jesus gives. The Apostle Paul warned Timothy that in the last days, “people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 2:3-4). Does not this sound like our world today? Yes! Our world is in desperate need of the hope Jesus gives us through the gift of salvation. In Acts 4:12, Peter says, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it.”
More than anything else, our world is in desperate need of Jesus! And our mission at Wellspring Christian Ministries is to distributors of the Living Water of Jesus and bring hope to everyone, everywhere.
