Built on Christian Values

America has for so long been blessed and protected by God, because we were a nation that lived by God’s standards. Our forefathers, who put their very lives and fortunes on the line to build a nation that stood on Christian values and Biblical principles. In fact, many of the men that were involved in writing our Declaration of Independence were men who had been to school that would be equivalent to what we call Seminary today. But today, we choose what parts of history to teach our children and even alter the true facts of history in an effort to stamp out God in any way possible.

Do you ever wonder what those men would say about the America we’ve become today? What would they have to say to those who want to alter history if they stood face to face with them? What would they say to Christians today about our complacency and how we’ve allowed America to become what it is today? And what would they thing about our “christian values” today?

Is God tired of America turning away from Him?

Our Christian values are hard to find. We have become as arrogant and prideful as Israel and Judah, believing that nothing bad would happen here in the land of the free. How we can still believe that America is still blessed and protected after the terrorists attacks of 9/11 is beyond me. 9/11 should have served as a wake up call across our nation – but we go on, blindly believing in freedom for all without recognizing that God does not give us freedom to sin.

Now in 2020, we are living amidst a world-wide pandemic that has radically alter our lives – yet still, do we get the warning message from God or do we continue to do life our own way? Is God tired of America turning away from Him? If so, then America can expect to no longer have the blessing and protection from God that we have experienced since we won our independence and became a nation. And we can expect that the days ahead in our future to grow more and more dim.

The Prophet’s message of repentance still applies.

For generations, God sent prophets to warn Israel and call the nation to turn back to God – to repent – to revive their hearts for the law of God. Instead of heeding the warning, they persecuted the prophets. They didn’t like what they were hearing so they tried to silence the message. America is doing the same thing today – not by persecuting prophets, but by removing the Ten Commandments from government buildings and courthouses and by altering laws so that man’s laws allows man to live however they want. But God is unchanging – and so are His laws. Rather than answering God’s call to revive our hearts, we silence His message – but without a revival, judgement is coming.

Just as Israel and Judah needed to repent and turn back to God, America needs to repent today and return to being a nation that honors God. We need to remember that if God would judge and destroy Israel and Judah, He will do so to any nation. Yes! America needs revival! If we want to experience an awakening and an out pouring of the Holy Spirit that revives our nation, we believe it begins with redeeming the Christian home and renewing our church leadership.
