Micah was a prophet in Judah during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Jotham and Hezekiah were good kings but Ahaz was extremely wicked. Micah had witnessed the moral decline of both Israel and Judah. Because of their sin, God was bringing judgment on both kingdoms. They were doomed and Micah knew it. He lived during one of the most hopeless times if Israel’s history, yet in Micah 7:7 we can learn four ways the Micah held on to hope so that when we face hopeless moments today, we can hold on to our hope too even while we are waiting on God to act on our behalf.
