When you break open a fortune cookie, you find some sort of wisdom saying or some very generalized statement about your “fortune”. However, our greatest fortune is the treasure and wisdom we find in God’s Word written as His love letter to us. You can choose a romantic verse from Song of Solomon or a verse that will encourage your spouse for something they are currently going through or maybe one that will lead and guide them in a decision they are trying to make or one that could become their life verse that always steers them toward God. Take some time to pray about it and ask the Holy Spirit to show you the verse that he/she needs right now in their life. Oh….and you can eat the fortune cookie, but throw way the slip of paper inside it. Let the word of God be your foundation, your fortune, and your source of wisdom.
