Couple Challenge: Date Jar

244

Any act of kindness is also an act of love. However, too often we give kindness only to those we love and ignore some of the people that need it most. In Proverbs, we’re taught that when we extend kindness to the poor it is a loan to the Lord. Jesus taught in Luke 14 that when we give a feast we should invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Others that could use kindness are the widowed, elderly, single moms, a struggling college student. These people are around us every day. Prior to your date, purchase a grocery store gift card for an amount you can afford. While out on your date, give the gift card away to a stranger. If they will allow it, pray with them. If they won’t, pray for them after you leave.

Note: If you have not created a date jar, use twelve craft sticks or pieces of paper and write a date night idea that you would like to do, but haven’t on each one. Place them in a jar and each month pull one out and go do it.

Be sure to check out our fundraising event. We have six t-shirts that will help you express your faith in a fun way.
