Marriage is a gift that God gave to us…this is why in Genesis 2:18, God said it was not good for man to be alone and so he made woman as his helper. Since God created us, He knew that we would long to be intimately connected to another human being – a connection that is physical, emotional, spiritual and sexual. Ultimately, we find our completeness in our relationships with God, but we also yearn for the touch of another human being and to have a relationship with them.

Even though marriage is a gift, many marriages and homes look more like a battlefield, and we carry many wounds and scars from the battles that have been waged. Reflect on whether your marriage looks more like a gift or a battlefield. How have you contributed to your marriage being a battlefield? What needs to change in your own life so that your marriage looks more like the gift it was meant to be?

A man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.

Proverbs 18:22
