It doesn’t take long in a marriage before we begin to take each other for granted. We establish routines and then just expect for things to fall into place. When we do, we tend to focus on all the things we wished were different about our spouse, home, or financial situation. The more we focus on how we long for things to be different, the more we complain and become bitter. We end up forgetting all the good things about our spouse, our home, and how God has provided and met our every need. The solution is expressing gratitude. So find at least three ways you thank your spouse for the things you take for granted about him/her. Repeat this anytime you feel like complaining about him/her.
