Memorize & Meditate

Each week we will post a scripture to challenge you to hide God’s Word in your heart. Commit it to memory, meditate on it and apply it to your life.

February 4-10

Matthew 24:35

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Meditate and apply:

  1. In a sermon my dad preached, he illustrated a story in which each time a woman came to a scripture that she didn’t like, she would cut that scripture out of the Bible, leaving only the verses that she did like. Cutting verses out – or removing the Bible all together  from our lives, does not negate God’s Word. Every part of it still remains – the promises, the laws, and His plan for our salvation.
  2. Jesus’ words are firmer than earth’s bedrock, more sound than the foundations of heaven, and more certain than even the existence of the universe. Because of this we have a surety that His promises are true and that the Bible is true.
  3. Can you identify times in history were man has attempted to eradicate the Bible? No matter what man has done, God’s Word is still today living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
