Today’s Bible verse for Revival
In Isaiah 6, Isaiah has a vision of heaven and he looks God in the face. Naturally, He is terrified. But an angel flies to him with a live coal that came from the altar and touches Isaiah’s mouth and in doing so, Isaiah’s guilt is gone. Then he hears Jesus speak and He asks: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” Isaiah volunteers to go and God sends him. But the message God gives Isaiah to give to the people is words of warning. He says the people will listen, but not understand. They will look, but they won’t see. They won’t have any clue about what is going on and as a result they won’t turn around and be made clean and whole.
From The Message Bible:
And then I heard the voice of the Master: “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I spoke up, “I’ll go. Send me!”
The Need for Revival
- If we are going to see a revival in our nation, we need to be bold witnesses for Jesus. God is looking for people whom He can send into the world to deliver His message of Good News that Jesus loves them, died for them, and He offers then the gift of eternal life.
- If you heard God speak and say to you, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” would you go?
- What would hold you back from going? Is that thing or person and idol that you care more about than God?
- How burdened are you for the lost? Enough to go and tell them about Jesus? Do you care that without you telling them they may die lost in their sin, with Jesus as their Savior?
Praying for Revival
Pray that God will give you eyes to see the lost who need to know about Jesus. Ask Him to put people in your path everyday who needs to hear about Him. Pray for Him to give you a burden for their spiritual condition. Ask him to enable you to speak with boldness and authority, but with love and compassion, and tell others He leads to you about Him.
Lord, send a revival and let it begin in me.
