A daily verse about the state of our nation and time for Christians reflect and unite in prayer, asking God to send a revival across our land and turn our nation back to Him.

Do we need a revival?

Reflections for Revival:

1. According to Joel 2:12, how does the Lord want us to return to him?
2. If we return with all our hearts – what does that look like for you? What parts of your life are you holding back from Him?
3. In Matthew 22:37, Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Do you love Him with all your heart? Do you love Him with all your soul? Do you love Him with all your mind? Does the life you live have the evidence that you do?
4. Are we burdened enough for our nation to fast and weep over the decline in morals? Are we concerned enough to fast and weep over how God is being pushed out of our nation?
5. In Bible days, people tore their clothes and dumped ashes on themselves to demonstrate grief or as a result of calamity. But God does want a bag of clothes to mend – he want to mend our hearts. Rending our hearts mean that we are so burdened over the rampant sin and boldness to shun God that are hearts are broken and contrite and we bring our brokenness to Him to restore and redeem.
6. On this Thanksgiving eve take time to praise and thank God that He is gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, and relenting in disaster.
7. As we see cases of COVID soar yet again, will you spend time on your knees praying for God to relent this disaster and send a blessing instead? Will you pray for Him to send a revival and pour out His Spirit on every Christian?

Lord, send a revival and let it begin in me.

Do we need a revival?

Reflections for Revival:

1. What is righteousness?
   Dictionaries define righteousness as “behavior that is morally justifiable or right.” Such behavior is characterized by accepted standards of morality, justice, virtue, or uprightness. The Bible’s standard of human righteousness is God’s own perfection in every attribute, every attitude, every behavior, and every word. Thus, God’s laws, as given in the Bible, both describe His own character and constitute the plumb line by which He measures human righteousness.

2. Does our nation behave in a way that is morally justifiable or right by God’s standards?
3. What sins cause our nation to be a reproach in the eyes of God?
4. If God sent a revival to our nation, how would our nation be different?
5. Spend time reflecting first on your own state of righteousness and then that of our nation. Seek God’s forgiveness for yourself and intercede for the sins of our nation. Ask God to remove the reproach of our sins and revive our hearts with a desire to seek and pursue His righteousness.

Lord, send a revival and let it begin in me.
