Each week we post a scripture to challenge you to hide God’s Word in your heart. Commit it to memory, meditate on it and apply it to your life.
This week’s memory verse:
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.Â

Meditate:
- Genuine repentance that leads to salvation will generate life transformation. It isn’t that the old, sinful person is reformed, but that the indwelling Holy Spirit creates divine life in believers, enabling a life of new things. What are some of the old, sinful behaviors in your life before you came to Christ and how have they become new, godly behaviors since then?
- Look up and Read Romans 8:8-10. While we are still unsaved sinners, our nature is to be hostile towards God and unable to submit to His law because we do not have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. When we ask Christ to forgive our sins and invite Him into our heart as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit moves in and provides life and righteousness. What evidence in your life shows that the Holy Spirit has taken up residence with in you?
- Look up and read John 3:3-8, Titus 3:5, and 1 Peter 1:23. In these verses, the words, “born again” and “regeneration” are used to communicate that change that happens when Christ saves us. In your own words, how do these words reflect your own salvation experience?
- Before salvation, we were enemies of God. Once Christ became our Savior, we became friends of God by being reconciled to Him. No longer are we estranged from Him because of sin because when God looks at us, the blood of Christ that paid for our sins and cleanses us from sin covers us and we are able to have a personal relationship as sons and daughters of the God who created us and loves us.
