How often during the day to you give praise to God? It’s easy to praise Him when life is great or something good has happened, but what about in rush hour traffic and the road bully cuts you off? What about when your spouse or children irritate you? What about when a close friend or family members leaves you feeling betrayed?
The psalmist wrote that we should praise God from the rise of the sun to the setting of the sun – so basically, we are to be praising God from the moment we wake up until the last thought before we go to sleep. For the nights you have trouble sleeping because the stresses and worries of life are overwhelming, try shifting your thoughts to praising God. Philippians 4:6-7 says that we should not be anxious about anything and instead we should take our worries to God through prayer with thanksgiving so the God’s peace will transcend all understanding and guard our hearts and minds. So when we bring all our worries to God and exchange them for praise and thanksgiving, we can find peace (Click to tweet). Â Don’t stay up all night fretting and worrying. Exchange your worries for praise and find peace. Besides feeling better, the devil doesn’t want to hear praise to God and he will leave you alone and let you sleep. He was only trying to still your joy anyway – so don’t let him have it. (Click to tweet) Â Just start praising – once you start, one praise will lead to another and you will be praising God with your last thought of the day and wake up with praise on your lips for the first thought of the next day – and feel rested too.

Previously employed with the Florida Baptist Convention, Julia organized events and led conferences for church ministry assistants.
