Why are there so many names for God? Why is it important that we know what they are and what they mean? Our finite, human brains cannot fully comprehend the majesty and glory of who God is. Yet through the various names of God, He chooses to reveal Himself to us so we can come to understand the many personal characteristics of God. His names reveal His power, authority, and holiness. The better we understand and know the names of God the more personal He becomes to us and as we pray, we can call on His name that corresponds with our need. Finally, because the Bible instructs us to honor, fear, and respect God and to not use His name in vain, we need to know exactly what His names are and what they mean. Today, we look at the name Jehovah Gibbor Milchamah

Today’s Name: Jehovah Gibbor Milchamah

Today’s Prayer:

Jehovah Gibbor Milchamah, we confess that we often try to face life’s battles in our own strength. Instead of trusting you as the Lord Mighty In Battle, we never consult you in the battle plan and come up with our own. Then, when we fail, we blame you, question you, and decide to sit on the sidelines. But you, Jehovah Gibbor Milchamah, are my strength and my song, my salvation, my God, and I will praise You. You are a warrior and the Lord is Your name. Your right hand is majestic in power and it shatters the enemy. And in the greatness of Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up against You. You have already defeated Satan and today, I live in the victory that you have already achieved.

Father, show us who You are as we discover and learn about your many names.

Reveal to us why You are worthy of being called the One True, Living God. May we learn about your characteristics, nature, and your great love for us. Teach us to unabashedly love you, respect Your name, and serve only You. Make your character known to us so we can live and walk in your image. Amen.

Today’s Prayer:

Meqor Mayim Khayyim, may we long for the Fountain of Living Water like a deer longs for the streams in a dry and weary land. Too often we carve out cisterns that are broken and try to fill them but then never satisfy. We look for our thirst to be filled in relationships, money, sex, drugs, alcohol or any other way but it is only when we drink from the Fountain of Living Water that our spiritual thirst is finds what it needs.

Father, show us who You are as we discover and learn about your many names. Reveal to us why You are worthy of being called the One True, Living God. Teach us to unabashedly love you, respect Your name, and serve only You. Make your character known to us so we can live and walk in your image. Amen.

Today’s Prayer:

Jehovah Hoshiah, as this coronavirus continues to ravage our world, we cray out, “O Lord! Save!” Send your victory over this disease and answer our call today. Rescue us and heal our land. In your hands rests the power of the universe and there is nothing you cannot do. You hold the universe together just by your will and you alone have the power to wipe this virus out of existence. We look to you for your divine intervention and praise you with our whole heart as we see your mighty power move in our world.

Today’s Name: Jehovah Elohim Yesua

Today’s Prayer:

Jehovah Elohim Yeshua, I praise you, God of My Salvation. Your gracious free gift that pays my sin debt redeems me and provides eternal life. But you also are the God of My Salvation each and every day. I can’t imagine living without your guidance and direction. Whenever I try to live life my way, I end up with heartache and consequences I’ve brought on myself because of my own choices. But you, Jehovah Elohim Yeshua, lovingly forgive, tenderly embrace and help heal the emotional hurts my poor choices make. How I long to live within the protection of your omniscient and omnipotent salvation.

Today’s Prayer:

El Hakabodh, I praise you for you are glorious, holy, mighty. You are the God of the impossibles, speaking life into nothingness and created our world, universe and every minute detail. You thought of everything and left nothing out. And to top it off, you made everything beautiful. Your glory is all around me and when I am stressed, depressed, overwhelmed, afraid, you’re glory is there to remind me of You and that you have me in the palm of your hand.
