When God comes down, He shakes up the sinner.
We become convicted of the mountains of sin, pride, and arrogance and they crumble and fall. The lost will see God at work in our world that will make God’s glory known. We’d see a difference in the Christian and our lives would honor Him. The Holy Spirit will bring conviction and the lost will cry out for God’s mercy and forgiveness.
When God comes down, Christians get shaken up.
Christians will discover a new and profound reverence for God that results in worship and praise. We won’t be able to wait to get to church. We’ll be arguing over who gets to serve God today rather than begging people to step up. When God shows up we will experience unspeakable joy that we splash on all those with whom we interact. We will no longer be complacent, ignoring sin, but will stand up and demand righteousness.
When God comes down, our hearts will break for what breaks God’s heart
When God comes down, sinful attitudes, behaviors, and actions that breaks the heart of God will also break our hearts. What breaks His heart? Sin, those who reject Him, the persecuted, the poor, the sick, and the hurting. When God comes down, we would be broken over our sin. We would be broken for the lost and we’d be eager to witness. If God came down, the persecuted, poor, sick, and hurting would see His glory, know His presence, comfort and peace.
In Romans 9, Paul quotes a verse from Exodus in which God tells Pharaoh His purpose for raising Pharaoh up to the position he was in. That purpose was for God to show His power and so that God’s name would be proclaimed in all the earth. Your purpose is the same.
