Praying for Revival

A daily verse about the state of our nation and time for Christians reflect and unite in prayer, asking God to send a revival across our land and turn our nation back to Him.

Do we need a revival?

Personal Reflections for Revival:

If we are to experience a personal revival in our hearts, we must draw near to God. The closer we are to His holiness, the more of our own unholiness will be revealed, so that we can confess our sins and be cleansed from all unrighteousness.

1. Are there areas of your life that are far from God? Have you surrendered some parts, but not others?
2. Name the areas of your life where you need to draw near to God. Confess these to God and ask the Holy Spirit to bring you near to God.
3. According to James 4:8, when we draw near to God, He will draw near to us. But when there is sin in our lives, it stands between us and God.
4. Cleansing our hands of sin occurs when we ask Christ into our hearts and invite Him to be our Lord and Savior. But even as Christians, we can still fall short of the glory of God, so we cleanse our hands by confessing to God when we sin and ask Him to renew a right spirit within us. Only then, can we have a purified heart. With sin out of the way, we can then draw near to God.

National Reflections for Revival:

1. In what ways does our nation need to draw near to God?
2. What national sins stand between our nation and God?
3. How can our nation cleanse its hands? By its people kneeling in prayer, acknowledging and confessing its sin and pride and seeking God’s forgiveness.
4. Our nation has no hope of drawing near to God as long as its national sins stand between us and God. It’s time for Christians to stand in the gap and intercede for our nation to ask God’s forgiveness and ask the Holy Spirit to turn the hearts of all people across our land back to Him and to draw us closer to Him.

Lord, send a revival and let it begin in me.
