Psalm 146:5-10

Dec 17 Psalm 146 5-10

As Christians, God is our help. He’s a fortress. The one we can safely place all our hope in and know that He is faithful forever. That is certainly something we can be joyful about. The psalmist recognized that our Lord is our protector and defender. The angels sang at His birth. The shepherds went quickly to go see him. They left to tell everyone they met all that they had seen and heard. The wise men traveled from the East to worship Him. Mary pondered all that happened in her heart.

The night of Jesus’ birth started out like any other night on earth. The moon and stars filled the skies. People settled in for the night and went to sleep. But in a tiny stable, Mary gave birth to the King of kings and Lord or lords and joy broke forth as Jesus took his first breath as a tiny baby. A joy that was for all people everywhere, from every background. Have you ever experienced so much joy that you couldn’t keep it to yourself? You just had to tell someone! There was so much joy in heaven that the angels couldn’t contain themselves and had to come share it with someone so they popped into the night in a field of sheep with their shepherds watching over them and they received the first birth announcement of the Savior, Christ the King.

Does the joy of Christmas fill you so much that you just have to share it with others? Who can you share the meaning of Christmas with today?
