A daily verse about the state of our nation and time for Christians reflect and unite in prayer, asking God to send a revival across our land and turn our nation back to Him.
Do we need a revival?
National Reflections for Revival:
- Israel and Judah were guilty of turning their backs on God and chose to worship carved images of wood. They wanted to be like all the other nations – but God wanted them to be set apart – different – holy.
- Idols are no always carved images. We make idols out of hobbies, careers, children, relationships, and much more. Anything that we make more important to us than our relationship with God becomes an idol that we have installed in our hearts.
- Part of the idol worship that Israel and Judah were involved in included sex shrines and temple prostitutes. They also were sacrificing their children to some of these idols. They embraced the wickedness that came along with worshiping the idols. Because they did and would not repent, it brought their ruin and they were carried off into captivity.
- What wickedness has our nation embraced? As you look back over the last three to five generations, can you see where the wickedness our nation has embraced is ruining us?
- God told Ezekiel, “Why should I even listen to their prayers?” In other words, they had been praying to their stone and wood idols that couldn’t even hear them, but then when things got really bad, they wanted to cry out to God for help. Should God listen to our prayers if the state of nation becomes as bad as Israel and Judah?
- Pray that God will send a revival and open the blind spiritual eyes of this nation to see the path we are headed on and that we will repent and turn back to Him before things get any worse.
Lord, send a revival and let it begin in me.
