We can put on faces and wear masks, and it isn’t difficult to do so with people that don’t know us that well, but the people who do know us see through the masks and see the real us. In 1 Samuel 16:7, God tells Samuel not to look at the outward appearance of man because God looks at the heart. The heart tells us what a person is really like without the masks we wear.

Couple Challenge: Group Date Night
You will want to plan ahead (and save money) for this date. If you go as a group, you may get discounts on the tickets. Your friends can pay you and you can purchase all the tickets together so you can all sit together or at tables close to each other. You might also want to visit the theatre’s website for what shows are playing and choose one all of you will enjoy. If you need a babysitter, plan to be out late or let the children stay overnight with grandparents.
After the show, either as a group or just as a couple, talk about how husbands and wives sometimes play a role like an actor/actress, but what they present to their spouse is not what they feel inside. How can this be harmful to a marriage and how can you commit to being honest with your thoughts with each other?
