Couple Challenge: Faith & Marriage

214

We can protract our marriage by making sure we only have eyes for the one we married. When our eyes stray, we begin comparing our spouse to others and crack the door open to a possible affair. Whether looking at another person, what you see on TV, on the internet, magazines, virtual reality or any other opportunity, they all result in the same outcome…lust in the heart. Jesus taught that anyone who looks on another person with lust commits adultery with that person in their heart (Matthew 5:28). Proverbs 5:18 says, “rejoice with the wife of your youth” (NKJV) Even as we get older and our hair turns gray, the wrinkles begin to set in, we’ve added a few pounds, and health problems may arise, God expects us to rejoice in the one you gave your heart to and vowed to love, honor, and cherish for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness, and in health. How can you let your spouse know that you only have eyes for him/her?
