Our faith family can encourage us and hold us accountable to remain celibate until marriage and to be faithful after marriage, which lowers the number of unwed mothers, the occurrences of STDs, and divorces caused by adultery.
Our faith family often encourages us to be our best self which improves health and quality of life. For example, if you want to lose weight, you could enlist your church friends to hold you accountable, encourage you, celebrate successes, and pray for you.
When we are tempted to step outside of godly living in any way, our family of faith can help us recognize it and lead us to repentance and back to the narrow way and reinforce the godly lifestyle choices God expects from us.
Since our beliefs affect our moral choices, we try to live according to God’s Word and, for many of us, we are more faithful in our marriages and more committed to our marriage vows when we understand God’s design for marriage.
At times, our social connections at church can even keep us from falling into sin as they pray for us, counsel us, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us through them.
