Visit a corn maze and work together to find your way through the maze. Enjoy any other activities the location may have. If you have never been to a corn maze, they are giant puzzles that you walk through. Farmers use their cornfields and put paths into them that includes loops and dead ends to get you lost, and since corn stalks are taller than people, it is easy to end up lost. But don’t worry. Usually, they will give you a long pole with a flag on top, so the farmers know where you are. They will also sometimes have clues at each turn, and you have to solve the clue to make the right turn. If you guess the clue incorrectly, you’re more likely to make a wrong turn. Thankfully, God gives us clear instructions in the Bible for how we are to live our lives!

I will instruct you and show you the way to go;
with My eye on you, I will give you counsel.
— Psalm 32:8

Invite friends/family over and plan for some tailgate type foods, such as grilling burgers and hotdogs and let your guests each bring something to go with them. It’s more fun when you have people rooting for both teams – but remember…it’s just a game!

Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a crown that will fade away, but we a crown that will never fade away.
1 Corinthians 9:25

Purchase a blank canvas and some paint that will match your home décor. Take the paint and canvas outside and “splatter paint” the canvas together. While you wait for the paint to dry, head to the beach and collect a variety of seashells. Take them home, wash them well, and allow them to dry. Use glue guns to glue the shells to the canvas. After it dries completely, use a spray on matte varnish to protect your artwork, and then hang it in your home. If you don’t live near the beach, go for a nature walk and collect a variety of items such as leaves, acorns, etc. and create your canvas from these items rather than shells.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the sea and all that fills it resound. Let the fields and everything in them exult. Then all the trees of the forest will shout for joy. —
Psalm 96:11-12

If there is not an orchard nearby, then purchase apples and the other ingredients. There are many recipes online or try a family recipe from your mother or grandmother. Make a second pie and take it to your pastor and his wife. Bring home a few extra apples for your fruit bowl and while you’re there pick a pumpkin or two as well and you’ll be ready to try your hand at a pumpkin pie and then pumpkin carving.

As an apricot tree stands out in the forest, my lover stands above the young men in town. All I want is to sit in his shade, to taste and savor his delicious love. He took me home with him for a festive meal, but his eyes feasted on me! — Song of Solomon 2:3-4 (MSG)

Hire a photographer for a fall photo shoot session. Plan your outfits and where you will go. Try to find either some scenic areas or areas that are part of your story, such as the church where you were married or the place you went on your first date, etc. The photographer may also know of good locations that he/she has previously used. Spend time talking with the photographer to tell them what you’d like your pictures to look like. For example, do you want a romantic look, fun look, etc?
